In Finland the National Economy is based on forest
resources and sustained yield is controlled by forestry
legislation under the Private Forestry Act. Whilst it is
generally recognised that Finnish forestry owners (of which
there are 400,000 private owners) tend, cultivate and
harvest their forestry resource carefully they are very
conscious of environmental, climatic and economic changes
that affect their livelihood. The Finnish Forestry
Association binds these interests together with responsible
controls.
In the UK Pepe Garden Furniture have obtained PEFC Chain
of Custody Certification from BM Trada Number BMT-PEFC-0020
and FSC Chain of Custody Certification from BM Trada Number
TT-COC-003092. The FSC Product Group Schedule is for
the following different categories of products: W.13,
W.13.1, W.13.2, W.13.3, W.13.7.
The timber is pressure treated against rot or decay using
EU approved materials – currently Tanalith E and Wolmanite
CX
products.
A small amount of pressure treated products are made to
the company’s designs in the UK using timber with PEFC
certification purchased from timber merchants with the
correct Chain of Custody credentials. |
